I am an artist/designer whose love of and fascination with embroidery inspires me to fuse traditional techniques with a bold, graphic aesthetic. I embrace a multi faceted approach, which combines a variety of techniques from digital print to beadwork to create a rich and exciting look. The bold colour, 2D relief and graphic aesthetic that typify my style is grounded by a dedication to technique and craftsmanship.
My current work is inspired by the contemporary, urban architecture in my home city of Manchester. I am drawn to these often stark buildings because they are stripped back and therefore provide me with a blank canvas to adorn and embellish with the vibrancy of the city and the detailing of the buildings themselves, which are so often overlooked as they fade into the background of our familiar and everyday environment.
